Last week Beantown's favorite son Ben Affleck made the rounds at the Democratic national Convention in support for the other hometown fav, Presidential candidate Sen. John F. Kerry. The popular actor's face was so much a part of the convention's coverage that Kerry was prompted to joke, 'Between the two of us, John Edwards and I, we decided that Ben Affleck had about four hours more TV than we did.
But could Afflecks interest in politics lead him to take a seat in the Senate if Kerry wins a trip to the White House?
The star of Gigli told the Boston Herald that he does have an interest in politics, but wouldn't answer questions about whether he would run for the Senate if Kerry's Senate seat were to open up. He would only say that he's doing what he can to help Kerry's drive for the Presidency. 'I'm not thinking past that, ' Affleck said.
Asked by a TV reporter whether he had any political aspirations, Affleck quipped, ``After I've seen the glamour and the glory? Thanks, guys.''
