Variety is reporting that Shannen Doherty will join the cast of the Fox television show “North Shore.” Doherty, who starred on Spelling dramas, “Charmed” and “Beverly Hills 90210” will play the role of lead actress Brooke Burns’ sister. The show, which focuses on life at a Hawaiian resort hotel has been Fox’s big hope to duplicate the success of last summer’s “The O.C.” debut. So far, the show hasn’t captured much attention. Producers are hoping that adding Doherty to the mix will spice things up. It certainly will do so off-camera, Burns has a child with Julian McMahon. Doherty starred with and reportedly dated McMahon while on “Charmed.” Doherty is famed as much for her off-screen antics as her acting work. She has had quickie marriages, infamous temper tantrums and reportedly got in a scuffle with Paris Hilton over Rick Salomon (Paris’ videotape companion who is Shannen’s ex-husband). I hope Brooke Burns has her boxing gloves at the ready.
