P. Diddy’s got a store all his own now. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, rapper and owner of the Sean John clothing store will open the Sean John flagship store during Fashion Week in New York City on August 29th. The store, on 41st and Fifth Avenue, has already attracted attention from passersby. 'At least 50 people a day stop by the construction site to ask when we are going to be open. It's exciting to be a part of such a highly anticipated project,' says Greg Anderson of InSite Development, Inc. whose company was hired by Sean John to assemble the launch of their retail stores.

This is the first of a series of stores planned for the clothing line. The line is making a transition from urban wear to more tailored looks. The store is designed to appeal to a variety of consumers. According to Charles Soriano, V.P. of Retail for Sean John, the store will feature a variety of new offerings. 'We are currently working on a number of exciting projects, including the premiere of 475 Fifth Avenue. We have spent considerable time developing proprietary product categories for this store. In addition to our current clothing lines, we will also offer a full range of sunglasses, men's accessories, small leather goods, fragrances, men's grooming products and an exclusive line of home decor and accessories.'

P. Diddy recently partnered up with designer-of-the-moment Zac Posen on a new line. The Sean John line grossed approximately $300 million in sales last year according to the New York Post. P. Diddy will remain chairman and chief executive of Sean John. The Sean John line first debuted in Spring 1999.
