In a bid to extend their fifteen minutes of fame over 20 reality TV stars have signed on to be part of an online network called “The Fishbowl.“ The site launches today and features “webisodes” with participants such as Jenna Lewis from Survivor and Survivor All-Stars and Sarah Kozer, the renowned runner up from Joe Millionaire who appeared on the cover of Playboy. The network feature stories about reality TV stars who move to LA to be stars as well as those returned home. The content is free for the time being and will allow fans a chance to interact with their favorite reality TV characters. The stars will become co-producers for their own material, so unlike the shows that brought them to fame, The Fishbowl will not feature manipulative editing or shots taken out of context.
The company also announces its first product available on TheFishbowl.com, Reality Unleashed, a ninety minute companion DVD of raw footage with reality stars talking trash about their experiences and answering everything about what really happened on their shows. The idea comes from Soctt Zakarin who developed the first ever web soap opera, “The Spot,“ which was popular a few years ago. The Fishbowl, available at www.thefishbowl.com will also feature reality TV casting calls and news.
