It hasn’t been a good week for Snoop Dogg. He’s in the news for the second time this week as a seven-year-old lawsuit comes back to haunt him. He first made headlines this week when he settled a lawsuit in regards to his “Girls Gone Wild Doggy Style” video. The suit alleged that he coerced underage girls into taking drugs and removing their tops.
On Thursday, the rapper was performing in Virginia Beach as part of the Projeckt Revolution tour. Persistent lawyer, Joseph Kaestner, took the opportunity to slap Snoop with million-dollar lawsuit that alleges the rapper knowingly coerced music promoter Patricia Ann Richardson into picking up some boxes filled with marijuana at a hotel for him while he was in Virginia for an October 1997 performance. She was later stopped and searched by policemen. Although she was not arrested in the incident she was cuffed and taken to the police station. She claims the incident was humiliating and defaming. Because the suit was filed in state court, Richardson’s lawyer Kaestner had to wait until Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, returned to the state. Thursday’s concert gave Kaestner his golden opportunity and so he had the sheriff serve papers. Snoop has 20 days to respond to the charges.
