The most recent upheaval in 23-year-old Paris Hilton’s world involves the disappearance of her pet Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, for whom the star is offering a $5,000 reward.

The dog has been missing since last Wednesday, Hilton's spokeswoman, Tracy Shaffer, confirmed, yet it is unclear how the dog got away. In her search, Hilton has plastered posters for the pet all over the West Hollywood area.

The well-coddled pet has often appeared on Hilton’s reality television show, 'The Simple Life,' in posh doggy outfits and accessories.

Tinkerbell’s departure only adds to a string of misfortunes for Hilton within the last month. In early August, Hilton and her sister, Nicky, reported their Hollywood Hills home was burglarized by someone who took jewelry and cash. However, the reports could not be confirmed and police are investigating.

Paris Hilton has starred alongside friend Nicole Richie in the Fox television hit for two seasons. The heiress of the Hilton Hotel chain is also recording an album and recently finished work on her feature film debut, a remake of the horror film 'House of Wax.'
