Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Red Hot Chili Peppers members Flea and John Frusciante, Henry Rollins and Rancid's Tim Armstrong are scheduled to play in Hollywood on September 12th as part of the Ramones 30th Anniversary party. The show, which will be held at the Avalon Theater, is already sold out. Avalon, which was formerly The Palace, was the last place the Ramones played at the end of their 22-year-long career.
According to the RamonesWorld.com website, the show will also feature an exhibition of Ramones memorabilia. Other guests include Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz, the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones, Blink 182's Mark Hoppus, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones' Dickie Barrett, Pete Yorn and Rooney's Robert Carmine. RamonesWorld.com also hints at some other special guests which may play. Rob Zombie will host the event.
Proceeds from the bash will be donated to the Lymphoma Research Foundation and the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Research Center. The Ramones, which were the founding fathers of the punk movement, lost band member Joey Ramone to cancer in 2001.
