J-Timberlake and DMX Court Battles

Earlier today, Elites TV announced Justin Timberlake’s clash with British tabloid, News of the World, over a story that accused him of cheating on girlfriend Cameron Diaz (see Timberlake Plans to Sue Tabloid for False Claims of Infidelity.) The former boy-bander vehemently opposed the allegations and threatened to pursue legal action against the paper’s leadership if it did not withdraw the claims.

Timberlake’s attorneys offered the magazine an opportunity to retract their statement along with offering an apology and cash sum to the pop singer. Yet none of the terms were addressed by the paper's editor. Col Allan and lawyers have issued libel proceedings which they plan to pursue “with vigor,” according to Simon Smith, managing partner with the Schillings’ law establishment of London.

A News of the World spokesperson responded by saying the newspaper will 'vigorously defend these proceedings in court.'

Elites TV also covered the arrest of rapper DMX for attempted auto theft in late June (see DMX Arrested in NY Airport). DMX, nee Earl Simmons, will appear in a New York court today where he's been charged with impersonating an FBI agent, cocaine possession, driving under the influence and criminal possession of a weapon.

If convicted, Simmons, 33, could face seven years in jail.
