First he was the “Bad Santa,” now Billy Bob Thornton will play an “evil gym teacher” in the upcoming New Line Production of “Mr. Woodcock.”
The comedy, which was written by Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert, revolves around an account of a young man who returns home when he learns that his mother is about to marry his former gym teacher.
New Line recently bought another Carnes and Gilbert script – “Furry Vengeance” – for a reported $750,000. This film will star Steve Carrell (Bruce Almighty and Anchorman).
Thornton, whose most memorable film to date is still the 1996 Oscar winning Sling Blade, has been busy. Shooting for Universal’s “Friday Night Lights,” another high school related film, ended recently and he is planning to appear in Paramount’s remake of “The Bad News Bears” before the end of the year.
