MIAMI, FL - There is no host at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, and there'll be no red carpet because stars are going to arrive on yachts (how is P. Diddy going to outshine everyone else’s arrival this year?).
The nominations were announced on Tuesday by Missy Elliott and Usher. The nominee’s include Jay-Z's jarring video for 99 Problems, which shows his own murder as a symbol for his departure from rapping, with six nominations. Beyonce, No Doubt, and OutKast had five nominations each.
Performers this year will include Usher, Jessica Simpson, newcomer Kanye West and straight out of Australia rock threesome of Jet, Yellowcard, and of course it’s Hoobastank.
The awards will be presented on August 29 at the bay front American Airlines arena.
