Michael Jackson's defense team requested and were granted a delay on his trial for child molestation charges. The trial, originally set at September 13, has been pushed back to January of 2005 by California judge Rodney Melville.
Jackson, arrested in November of last year, is facing charges of committing a lewd act upon a child, administering an intoxicating agent and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He has plead not guilty to all charges.
The prosecution claimed during the hearing that Jackson held prisoner a child an his family at the Neverland Ranch, and forced them to make a videotape absolving him of any molestation claims.
The defense labeled the prosecution's case absurd, and asked the judge to dismiss all charges.
Jackson remains free on $3 million bail.
