Jay-Z Tops VMA Nominees, But Beyonce, No Doubt, and Outkast Are Not Far Behind

Nominations for MTV's Video Music Awards were announced yesterday, with Jay-Z earning the most nominations, six, for his video '99 Problems.' Close behind him were Beyonce, with five nominations for her videos 'Naughty Girl' and 'Me, Myself, and I,' No Doubt, with five nominations for their video 'It's My Life,' and Outkast, with five nominations for their video 'Hey Ya.'

The VMAs, which will be held on August 29 in Miami, will include performances from Usher, Jessica Simpson, Kanye West, Jet, Hoobastank, and Yellowcard. This year, the Viewer's Choice Award will have a different voting system. 40 videos will be voted for in brackets, until only five videos are left. Also new this year is the MTV2 Award, allowing viewers to vote for a favorite video shown on MTV2.
