People magazine is reporting that singer Brandy Norwood is now engaged to LA Clipper Quentin Richardson. The pair have been a feature around town in Los Angeles for months. This announcement follows on the heels of the recent scandal involving her alleged marriage to producer Robert Smith who is the father of her baby, two year old Sy’rai.

NBA star Richardson popped the question at a private party at LA’s posh century club. Friends and family were in attendance but Brandy was said to be surprised when Richardson slid the million dollar ring on her finger. “It was a total surprise for her,” said jeweler to the stars Jason Arasheben, who had spent months designing the eleven plus carat stunner.

In a June interview with MTV, Brandy said that her next marriage would be a big deal. The first marriage had reportedly been held in secret but now looks as though it never took place at all. 'I promise you, I'm gonna call [my next marriage] my first marriage, because it'll be the first time that I'll ever get a chance to walk down the aisle and have bridesmaids and my mom crying and my dad giving me away, and just really being in love with somebody. I promise you, it will not be a secret because it'll be real.' This will be the first marriage for both.
